It was taken by Charles O'Rear, who also took Windows XP's iconic Bliss and Red moon desert wallpapers. It depicts a winding highway with no vehicles present on Mount Tamalpais in California, USA. The version used in this demo has different clouds compared to the original image. There is also an alternate vertical shot, where the highway has a darker appearance.
