img3, originally known as Corn Lily (Veratrum viride), Mt. Rainier NP, WA, USA is a wallpaper included in Windows 7 as part of the Nature theme. It was taken by Rob Tilley and licensed from Danita Delimont Stock Photography. It is a photo of a corn lily taken at Mount Rainer National Park, Washington, USA, taken as soon as the leaves started coming out in Spring 2009.
On the day Windows 7 was released to general availability, Tilley wrote a blog post announcing that Microsoft decided to license it; he had to wait until its general availability release due to the contract. Although he was not sure why they chose this particular image, he felt that it works well as a background, due to its monochrome nature and how it is not distracting.[1]
