usertile8, originally known as Tabby kitten in washing basket, amongst clothes, close-up and known in Windows Live Messenger as Kitten, is a user account picture included in Windows Vista and Windows Live Messenger, licensed from Getty Images. It was taken by Peter Cade. It depicts an eight week old tabby kitten in a washing basket amongst clothes, although Microsoft cropped this to show just the kitten's face.

History

Around the early 2000s, Peter Cade borrowed a litter of five kittens from a friend's friend to take several photos, including this one, for two days. The kittens were returned to the owner, and Cade submitted the photos to Tony Stone/Getty Images. He doubts that the cat is still alive due to these photos being taken so long ago.[1]

Trivia

  • Cade's reflection can be seen very faintly in the kitten's eyes, where he is visibly pointing the camera towards the kitten.
