SuperStock
SuperStock is a small stock photo agency. Although largely relying on Getty Images for Windows Vista, Microsoft licensed two images from them: the Desert Landscape sample picture and Starter's img729. usertile42 from Windows 7 also originates from SuperStock's Purestock brand although a copyright acknowledgements list for 7's graphics attributes it to "Purestock/Getty Images", hinting it was bought from Getty rather than directly through SuperStock, as many stock photo agencies also cross-license their images to other agencies. For Windows 8's img101 lock screen wallpaper, Microsoft licensed it from SuperStock.
The Purestock images were taken down from Getty and other stock photo agencies in 2019, although some remain available on Alamy and SuperStock itself.
