Will Austin

From Windows Wallpaper Wiki

Will Austin is an American photographer. He has worked with many clients, including Microsoft for Windows 7, where they chose six wallpapers from his stock photo collection for two themes: Nature and Architecture. He was chosen as Windows 7's design team wanted a local Seattle flavor to the wallpapers; all of his images that were featured in Windows 7 were taken in Seattle.[1][2] He later worked with Microsoft again for Windows 8, where he went on a photo shoot to several locations. He hoped to shoot at the Seattle Great Wheel, which was completed before the deadline, so he got to take shots there. Microsoft chose one of the wheel shots for 8's Photos app. Marius Bauer also created a flatter version of Windows 7's img13, intended as a lock screen wallpaper, although it did not get used in the end: Bauer's Seattle landscape wallpaper was chosen as the default lock screen wallpaper instead.[3]
